Breaking News: MSC Container Ship Incident in South China Sea, 25 Crew Evacuated & Rescued

On September 22, MSC's container vessel MSC Hermes III encountered an emergency in the South China Sea, around 300 km east of Vietnam. The ship lost power at sea, and the captain ordered an abandonment of the vessel. All 25 crew members boarded lifeboats and were later safely rescued by another MSC ship, MSC Ruby. No injuries were reported.

The 2490 TEU Liberian-flagged vessel departed Hong Kong bound for Jakarta after calling at Shanghai. The unmanned vessel is now adrift, and maritime authorities have issued navigation warnings. The root cause of the incident remains unconfirmed; rumors of engine room fire have not been officially verified.
