2. Composition and Raw Materials
The composition of artificial quartz is precisely controlled, typically following a ratio of approximately 90-95% crushed quartz aggregates and 5-10% polymer resins and additives.

Hygienic and Easy Maintenance: The non-porous surface prevents the harboring of bacteria, mold, and viruses, promoting a more hygienic environment. Cleaning requires only mild soap and water.
Consistent Aesthetics: Unlike natural stone, which varies from slab to slab, engineered quartz offers remarkable consistency in color and pattern, allowing for predictable design outcomes and easier matching of multiple slabs for large projects.
Flexibility in Design: The ability to control pigments and aggregate size allows for an immense variety of colors, patterns, and visual textures, including designs that convincingly mimic natural marble, concrete, or limestone.
Structural Strength: Despite being a dense material, the resin content provides a degree of flexibility that makes it less brittle than natural stone, reducing the likelihood of cracking during handling and installation.
Limitations: While highly durable, it is not entirely indestructible. It can be damaged by excessive heat (e.g., a hot pan directly from the oven can melt the resin, leaving a burn mark). Its UV stability, while improving, may not be as high as natural stone, making it less suitable for long-term, direct outdoor sun exposure where fading could occur.
